THE SUCCESSFULL LAUNCH OF AGNI - V  MISSILE 

On 31st January 2015 , India successfully launched it's indigenously developed ballistic missile , AGNI-V from a mobile launcher for the first time . This was a game changer as with this canister version , it ill be possible for our soldiers to launch the missile from anywhere . It has a range of 5,000 km which is the largest for India till now . It was launched from a sealed canister mounted on a TATA truck off India's east coast . It delivered it's payload to a target in the Southern Indian Ocean 20 minutes later ,effectively meeting all the mission objectives .

SUPREME COURT STRIKES DOWN SECTION 66A OF IT ACT 

The SC called this section 'unconstitutional' and said that it hit at the root of liberty and freedom of expression , which were the cardinal pillars of the Democracy . This section had been misused by the police in a number of cases to arrest innocent people for posting comments about the social and political issues on social networking sites . The court however upheld the validity of section 69B which allows the government if their content could create communal disturbance or social disorder .

ATAL BIHARI VAJPAYEE CONFERRED WITH THE BHARAT RATNA

This was something everyone believed was long overdue and was finally bestowed on one of the most respected personality in India on 27th March 2015 . The President drove to Vajpayee's residence  Krishna Kenon Marg and honoured the towering figure of Indian Politics . With this , the entire political establishment and a grateful nation bowed in respect to the visionary .

SAINA NEHWAL BECOMES  WORLD NO. 1  BADMINTON PLAYER 

Saina Nehwal became WORLD NO. 1 , in the women's badminton and thus became the first Indian to achieve this incredible feat . On this achievement she said , "Titles make me hungry . Next I hope to win more and more titles , I hope to be fit and injury free ".

INDIA , BANGLADESH EXCHANGED LAND IN A HISTORIC DEAL

India - Bangladesh signed an historic land boundary agreement ending the 41 year-long misery of 50,000 stateless people. The aggrement was signed on 7th june and the tiny areas of land were swapped on 31st July ending one of the world's most intractable border disputes .

Bharat Ratna Madan Mohan Malviya 

Acknowledging the educational and political contribution of the late Madan Mohan Malviyaji ,Bharaat Ratna Award was conferred on him this year .Though the award came 68 years after his death , it is better late than never . The contribution of him in the field of Education and Politics is immense. BHU , founded by Madan Mohan Malviya is one of the largest residential universities in Asia with over 20,000 students .


International Yoga Day

Yoga , a common practice in India got its international recognition on 21 June when this day was declared as International Yoga Day. More than 180 countries agreed for this matter .This can be seen as India's diplomatic win .Thanks to the Indian Diplomats and Yog Gurus of India.

Rajya Sabha passes bill on transgenders

Marking an important day in Indian Democracy on 25 April ,Rajya Sabha passed the bill in the favor of the Transgenders.This bill provides rights to the Transgenders and also protects them from various evils of the society.By doing this India joined the elite group of nations who recognize and protect this section of the society This made the Indian Democracy more firm and deep.This section has been deprived in the past but now they have been given reservation in various government policies and schemes as India Firmly believes in the policy of "Live and let live".

 First Space Lab 'Astrosat'

Adding another feather to it's cap , ISRO placed India's First observatory Astrosat in Space.This will help Indian scientist in the study of various Celestial Bodies.This lab is been loaded with various Hi-tech equipments like  X-ray,UV telescope and charge particle monitor.This was the second biggest mission of ISRO after Mars Orbital.

3 NEW SOCIAL SECURITY SCHEMES WERE LAUNCHED BY THE GOVERNMENT



On May 9 , three ambitious social security schemes were launched by the central government with the aim of widening the process of financial inclusion in the country .The three schemes are ‘Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana’ (accident insurance) , ‘Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Yojana’ (life insurance) and ‘Atal Pension Yojana’ . It is estimated that the unorganized sector workers , which constitute 88% of the total labour force  , do not have any formal pension provision . These three schemes will definitely provide a much needed boost to the process of financial inclusion which has been the priority of this government .
